Experienced seamstress / upholsterer required, F/T salary to £22K

We are looking for an experienced seamstress/upholsterer who will take the lead in setting up our new department and the related processes. At present our upholstery is done off-site and we are looking to expand our business to bring this in-house and have therefore, created this new post for our new department.

Experience of industrial sewing machines, walking foot and overlockers is essential. You will be required to create pattern templates and produce custom made seating covers for bespoke wheelchair cushions. An ability to create patterns from production drawings is also required.

You will be responsible for ordering and maintaining stock and you will have a good understanding of fabric grain and of working with a variety of materials including stretch fabrics. Experience of various fastenings and how to fit zips is also needed.

You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of production, ensuring covers are made efficiently and to a high quality finish. You will have good communication skills, be able to manage own workload and work as part of a team.

Sewing Assistant P/T, Flexible Salary dependent on experience
