contour lynx

Lynx was developed in the late 1980's. The material is made up of interlocking crosses, each arm of which is slotted with a clamp attaching it to the adjacent cross. If the clamps are loosened a sheet of the material can be shaped around a cast. The clamps are tightened to lock the material's shape, but it isn't fixed until an aluminium frame has been fitted around the lynx. Once complete, a padded cover is tailored around the seat.

practicalities of contour lynx

- It's easily adjustable and can grow with the end user. Width and depth adjustments can be made without adding components.

- Lynx offers excellent air circulation because of its open mesh structure.

- Lynx is easy to keep clean with detachable covers.

- Even with covers on, you can still see elements of Lynx and aluminium tube, which can be difficult to hide. Depending on your personal preference, this may be an issue or a feature.

- Because the material is of a flexible nature, the level of framing determines how rigid the seat feels.

- There is a maintenance requirement for Lynx, and the material will need to be checked at regular intervals to ensure all the elements are tight.

- We can make full or split seats, which can increase covering and aesthetic options.

- Flowing contours are easier to follow than acute contours.
